Abstract Artist Natalie Gray – Truth in art

This video was shot in international waters on one of p&o’s cruise ships (the entire fleet carry her artwork). It illustrates the pure vulnerability and truth that Natalie brings to her work, an honesty that has now brought her work to the auction block alongside original Picasso’s, Dali’s and Chagall’s.

Moussaemad: Figure drawing, landscapes, seascapes, still lifes have been done for centuries. I doubt your work adds anything new. These days photography can produce anything that you can draw – why do it your just reproducing an image? On the hierarchy of art drawing is at the bottom and painting is at the top. When an abstract artist conceptualizes an image in their mind and is able to translate it on canvas, trust me, it takes skill.

If you’re a real artist you’ll know that abstract art is a way some people who can’t actually draw use. Some of them have beautiful colors and compositions, but as a figurative artist I don’t see a lot of fascinating skill in it.
